What started as documenting my friend's "last adventure" before marriage became a lesson I never saw coming. When my friend announced his December wedding, we knew we had to take one final trip together. Kerala seemed perfect backwaters, mountains, incredible culture. I grabbed my camera, ready to capture every moment of his "freedom." But somewhere between the spice plantations and monsoon rains, I realized I was missing the actual trip. I was so busy filming the story that I forgot to live it. This isn't your typical Kerala travel vlog. Today I pulled 200kg from the rack... but that's not the full story. I went into today's session thinking I was ready to deadlift 200kg from the floor tomorrow. The rack pulls felt strong, the weight moved well, but something clicked when I analyzed the lift. My glutes and hamstrings are the weak link holding me back from that full 200kg deadlift. Sometimes the gym humbles you in the best way. I thought I was closer to my goal than I really am, but now I know exactly what needs work. This is what I mean when I talk about listening to your body and being honest about where you're at. The 200kg deadlift goal isn't gone - it's just getting pushed back while I build up my posterior chain. Romanian deadlifts, hip thrusts, and hamstring curls are about to become my best friends. This is the real side of lifting that nobody talks about. It's not just about hitting PRs - it's about constantly learning, adjusting, and trusting the process even when it means taking a step back.
